Good To Great

I started reading this book Good To Great last month. Its been couple months since I read my last book “Mythical Man Month” and its been great reading this book for couple reasons.

Here are some of the things that has resonated with me: 

1. This book talks about lot of the characteristics and personalities of a Level 5 Leader which I have always believed in and wondered why its hard to see many Level 5 leaders.

2. Humility is one the characteristics of a level 5 leader.

3. Level 5 leader always talks about who before why and what.

4. First get the right people on the bus and wrong off the bus. Then figure out where to drive.

Be rigorous rather than ruthless
Principle of discipline 1 : When in doubt don’t hire
Principle of discipline 2: When you know you need to make people change, act
Principle of discipline 3: Put your best people on biggest opportunity not on the biggest problem.
